Synopsis
The film follows the outspoken Kinky, his campaign staff, and his devoted grass roots volunteers through an unprecedented and all together wacky four-way governor's race. Hartstein gets an inside look at Friedman's unusual candidacy, from his career as a provocative musician and mystery novelist to his head-first dive into state politics. Through the campaign's efforts to raise money and make the ballot, to down and dirty struggles against party politics, to the cigar-fueled final days of a nail-biting race, Hartstein gets unparalleled access to Friedman -- his wit, his candor, and of course, his music.
